Dr. Rion Marcus

Chiropractor
Dr. Rion Marcus is a native of Albuquerque and a graduate of La Cueva High School and University of New Mexico where he earned a degree in biology. He pursued his dream of earning his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at University of Western States in Portland Oregon.  Dr. Marcus uses many chiropractics techniques including the Palmer method and diversified. Apart from his practice, he is a member of EAGA and an active member in the “High IQ Society” Mensa International.

While at UWS, Dr. Marcus excelled in the treatment and rehabilitation of athletes and sports related injuries, in which he was a treating intern at the USA World Youth Track and Field Trials and numerous local sporting events from soccer and ballroom dance to cyclo-cross and long-distance running events. He also had the privilege of treating the under-served communities throughout Portland with much needed chiropractic care.

Dr. Marcus has advanced training certificates in Active Release Technique® (A.R.T.) and Graston® soft tissue therapies. He also uses Kinesio® taping protocols. He has successfully treated elite distance runners, rock climbers, professional cyclists, Ironman triathletes, MMA and UFC fighters, and bull-riders in addition to “weekend warriors”.

His emphasis in chiropractic technique considers dynamic movement and functional evaluation to comprehensively address the underlying cause of disease, biomechanical dysfunction, and to improve overall physical ability and wellness. He utilizes several adjusting techniques that are safe and gentle for all considerations. Most people enjoy a dramatic improvement in the first few treatments. His youngest patient has been 2 days old and his eldest 98!!

His level of commitment and passion for his community led him back to his hometown to practice chiropractic.  Dr. Marcus has partnered with several charitable foundations including Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, local 4H club, Canines for Companions, Paws and Stripes and other local charities.

Dr. Marcus is an avid outdoors-man, a family man, and loves the simple things in life. In his leisure time, he can be found hiking the Sandias, golfing, training his dogs, or scouting for his next outdoor adventure!

Dr. Dominic Gutierrez

Chiropractor
Dr. Dominic Gutierrez is a native of Albuquerque. He graduated from Saint Pius X High School then went on to the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, where he earned a degree in Biology and Chemistry. Even though he comes from a family of dentists, he pursued his passion for chiropractic and attended Life University School of Chiropractic in Atlanta, Georgia.

While attending Life University, Dr. Gutierrez became certified in the Thompson technique and the Pierce Results System. He also went on a chiropractic mission trip to the Dominican Republic, where he served many underprivileged towns and villages.

As an Albuquerque native, he has a deep passion to give back and serve our community. He is very family-oriented, which is why caring for people of all ages is so important to him.

Dr. Gutierrez enjoys spending time with his family, going on hikes with his dog, golfing, and skiing. For these reasons, Albuquerque will always be home!

Gretchen Kirkwood

Business Manager
Gretchen Kirkwood helped plan and establish New Mexico Chiropractic Center in February of 2007. She also played an integral role in introducing the Ideal Protein protocol to New Mexico in 2008. Gretchen holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in management. With over 30 years of supervisory and management experience, she heads up a patient-centered, dynamic team dedicated to the delivery of knowledgeable, efficient and compassionate chiropractic care.

Angelica Castillo

Front desk receptionist/office assistant
Angelica Castillo is one of the center’s front desk receptionist/office assistants. She was born and raised in Albuquerque and has never lived anywhere else. She is married, and has three children. She is definitely family oriented and enjoys spending time with immediate and extended family members. In her spare time she likes the outdoors and loves to read.

Prior to working at NMCC, Angelica worked for an elementary school and a bank here in Albuquerque. Her experience has been mostly dealing in customer service and she loves working with people. She really loves her job and our center, and has become much healthier and feels great! Being well-adjusted makes all the difference in your health. She wants to continue to be educated and learn more about the overall benefits of chiropractic so she can continue to serve our patients to the best of her ability!

Janet Jay

Weight Loss Consultant
Janet Jay is the Ideal Protein weight loss consultant and coach. A Missouri girl, Janet attended Washington University in St. Louis, graduated with a B.S. in education from the University of Missouri, and then moved to San Francisco. Eventually she ended up in Hawaii where she married and raised two children.  She also has two wonderful step children. Janet says she’s lived in all the right places and has always enjoyed being wherever she finds herself.  Her joy comes from meeting and interacting with new people, reading, and ballroom dance lessons.

Research continues to evolve around health and nutrition, and Janet is so pleased to be part of an office that promotes Ideal Protein. The protocol is effective in improving blood sugar, cholesterol levels, and blood pressure. It is a muscle sparing, fat-targeting weight loss program that is medically designed, and has both a beginning and an end. Janet looks forward to helping you reach your weight-loss goals!

Erin M. Brady, LMT

Front Desk Biller and Licensed Massage Therapist

Erin joined NMCC in mid-2016 as a front desk/biller and a few short months later decided to move her massage practice on-site as well!  Along with billing out all our services and coordinating our worker’s compensation, auto-injury and veteran’s care, Erin works her magic with over 18 years of experience in the massage therapy arena.  She utilizes therapeutic massage, trigger point release, Ortho-Bionomy, prenatal massage, polarity therapy, reflexology and more to customize 1/2 hour to hour-long sessions.  She often works in tandem with our docs to treat specific issues and is available outside of our clinic hours.

A native New Mexican, Erin loves camping and other outdoor activities and is a busy wife and mom to two sons.  She is passionate about furthering her knowledge of the human body to help individuals of all ages reach their maximum potential.
